This project was a part of the 2026 BruFest Symposium. It was written and directed by American Theatre student Pippin Allright and entirely produced by Rose Bruford students.

The play followed the creation and fall of the first and only federal theatre project in the USA. Being set in the 1930s it was an incredibly interesting piece to costume. I worked with one of my colleagues in their first year to bring these costumes to life. In the course of the project I took the role of overseeing the costumes being sourced and liasing more with the director.

This was the first fully period costumed piece I had done at Rose Bruford and I really enjoyed the journey of researching and refining the look that we were trying to achieve. As a zero budget project I recognise it is extremely difficult to achieve fully historically accurate costumes, however I am proud of the aesthetic we were able to achieve and I feel that it did visually communicate the time period sufficiently.
